Cars participating in GulfRun 4.

Written by Khaled on November 5th, 2008

We have finalized the list of cars participating in the upcoming GulfRun 4. With a variety of different cars taking part from Minis and S2000s to GT2s and Scuderias; GulfRun 4 should result in a very interesting round-up.

The cars taking part this year couldn’t be any different, the agile autocross champions are in full force with a healthy showing of the 4cyl NA cars in pairs; the Mini Cooper S, Lotus Exige S 240(and 340R) and Honda S2000. The next level up is chocked full of M3s, Evos, Carreras and the new Lexus ISF; which should put some pressure on the proven track cars. There is no lack of power at the top of the food chain; with several Porsche Turbos and Noble M400s coming back for another year with GulfRun. In addition to the returning cars, we are also proud to have the Nissan GTR, Porsche GT2 (997), Ferrari F430 Scuderia and Dodge Viper making their first appearance at this year’s event.

With the help of the professional instructors of the Bahrain International circuit, we hope to see the drivers maximize on the true potential of their cars. The Bahrain International Circuit is one of the best designed tracks in the world, with the largest run-off in each corner allowing the drivers to test their vehicle’s capabilities in comfort. And as the event at the Bahrain International circuit consisting of an Inner and GP circuit time attack, Autocross time trial and Quarter-mile drag competition; drivers can get a new understanding of driving techniques.

In my opinion the lap timings that are going to be a surprise are the skyline GTR and the Exige S both will be up there with the Scuderias and GT2 and nobles at least on the inner circuit. The lotuses have a good chance of beating all the competition in the autocross stage circuit if the drivers drive them well, but then again I can wait to see what a Scuderia and a GT2 can do on the track.

    Thanks!

    Tracker:
I agree with you, and the BIC inner circuit is a tricky course, it really depends on the driver! A GT3 managed a faster lap than both the Turbo (modified) and Noble last year.

The Minis and S2000s participating in the autocross are heavily modified .. they might outhandle the nimble lotus.

I am very interested in seeing the Scuderia, GT2 and Skyline face off against the Noble on the GP Circuit.. They are all pushing well above 500hp.

The Honda’s with the VTEC screaming up to 9RPM, but do not forget the Z350 drifting inside and outside the track and outside, and the ROARING Ford GT will be heard form the SEEF area when in the track, the evo’s with boosting to 23 PSI WOW, so many Porsches it is a candy store, must hit the M button for the BEEMERS, and the Go Cart experience of the Lotus, IS-F “Arnooob” on must be tested for drug because it is on steroids, the Black Knight the R8 with the UFC powered driver, oooooo not the Nobles again(defending their title), the viper with the poison will be rattling in the track need the desert, do not under estimate the MINI’s, and the Red Raging Bull the Murcielago in the straight line power, the Ferrari’s with their F1 experience , and finally the all awaited the GTR Skyline.

    LETS GETTI’T ON

    To the two participating GTRs,

While I was reading a forum last night, I discovered that the launch control in the GTR can ruin the gearbox and the warranty doesn’t cover it.
I just want to warn the owners because on track they will be racing them to the limit and it might end up badly.

For more details please check this clip (Fast forward to 6:00)
